Steaming To The Coast – Trail Event
This years Trail running event in conjunction with West Somerset Railway will take place on 12th April 2025. The route will take the runners through Bishops Lydeard - see ma for details.

Channel Events aim is to run engaging and accessible lifestyle events that drive lifelong, self-led participation in physical activity in the outdoors. We are driven by the belief and research that regular physical activity in the outdoor environment has massive physical and mental health benefits.
The Event will be starting from the station at Bishops Lydeard at 10:15am. The route will see runners go under the underpass before running along Station road, then Mount Street before turning right into Quantock View. I’ve attached a map of the route through Bishops Lydeard and a map of the full route from Bishops Lydeard to Minehead.
The route will be marked using reusable orange flags and orange arrows on a white background arrows will be fixed using reusable zip ties in line with our drive to be at the forefront of sustainable events. The route will be marked out on Friday 11th and markers collected behind the last runner on Saturday 12th. Please don’t share that we use reusable zip ties as this can lead to the public tampering with the route markers which directly affects the safety of the runners.
