The Somerset Domestic Abuse Service provides free and confidential support to adults, children and young people affected by domestic abuse, including community support, counselling, recovery programmes, legal support and access to safe accommodation.

Wessex Water has announced a hosepipe ban from Tuesday 18 August at 00:01hrs after months of unprecedented dry weather, heatwaves and a continued lack of rain forecast, which has led to sustained high demand for water.
Pandaemonium, a film about the time poets Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth spent in the county, will be screened twice at Hestercombe House at 2pm and 7pm on 26th September 2026. The 25th birthday of a Somerset-shot film will be celebrated with a unique screening at a landmark venue.
